Privacy Policy

1. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Sherly Sulaiman ("I", "me" and "my") handles personal information collected through sherlysulaiman.com (the Site).

It applies to the Site, its contact form, mailing list, free meditation MP3 delivery and embedded Vimeo videos. It does not apply to Elly and i, Elly AI, ellyai.me, or any separate service or platform, each of which has its own arrangements.

2. Personal information I collect

I collect personal information you choose to provide when you use the Site:

• Contact form: first name, last name, email address, optional phone number and the message you submit.
• Mailing list and free MP3 requests: first name, surname and email address.
• Correspondence: information you provide when you contact me or respond to my emails.

Please do not include sensitive personal information, including health information, in the contact form. It is not intended to be a secure or confidential channel for that type of information.

The Site and its providers may also receive limited technical information needed to operate the Site, such as IP address, browser and device information, date/time information, and the pages or video functions used.

3. How I use your information

• to respond to your enquiry or message;
• to add you to the mailing list when you ask to join it;
• to send the free meditation MP3 or download link you requested;
• to send newsletters and updates to subscribers;
• to operate, protect and improve the Site; and
• to comply with legal obligations and resolve complaints.

4. Mailing list, free MP3s and unsubscribing

When you provide your name and email address to receive a free meditation MP3, you join my mailing list. I use your details to send the requested MP3 or download link and future newsletters or updates.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email. I will action your request promptly. I do not sell or rent mailing-list information, and I do not provide it to others for their own direct-marketing purposes.

5. Service providers and disclosures

I use carefully selected service providers to operate the Site and deliver the functions you request. These include:

• Webflow, to host and operate the Site and its forms;
• ActiveCampaign, to manage mailing-list subscriptions and send emails, including MP3 delivery emails and newsletters;
• Vimeo, to host and display embedded videos; and
• my email service provider, to receive and respond to contact-form enquiries.

These providers may handle personal information only as needed to provide their services. I may also disclose information where required or authorised by law.

6. Overseas processing

Some service providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they or their service providers operate. When I use an overseas provider, I take reasonable steps to use reputable providers and to ensure that personal information is handled appropriately.

7. Cookies, Vimeo and tracking

The Site does not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or similar advertising or visitor-tracking tools. It may use essential cookies and similar technologies needed for the Site to function. Vimeo may also use cookies or receive technical information when you play an embedded video. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

Any email interaction reporting available through ActiveCampaign relates to emails sent to subscribers; it is not used as website advertising or cross-site visitor tracking.

8. Security

I take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes using reputable service providers and reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure.

9. Retention

I keep mailing-list information until you unsubscribe or ask for it to be removed. I may keep a limited record of your opt-out request so that I can honour it. I keep contact-form messages only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, manage the Site and my records, resolve issues, or meet legal obligations. Information is then deleted or de-identified where reasonably practicable.

10. Access, correction and privacy concerns

You may ask for access to, or correction of, personal information I hold about you. You may also raise a privacy concern with me. Please email hello@sherlysulaiman.com. I will respond within a reasonable time.

If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. New Zealand users may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

11. Children

The Site does not impose a minimum age for ordinary browsing, joining the mailing list or requesting a free MP3. If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns about information provided by a child, please contact me at hello@sherlysulaiman.com.

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will be published on this page with its last-updated date.
